This landmark exhibition at Tate Britain is the first major European retrospective of James McNeill Whistler's work in over 30 years. Bringing together around 150 works, it explores the life and career of one of the most influential and innovative artists of the nineteenth century. Members will have the opportunity to see many of Whistler's most celebrated paintings, alongside drawings, prints, designs and works rarely displayed in public. The exhibition showcases his pioneering artistic vision and his role in shaping modern art.

During the visit, members will have timed entry to the Whistler Exhibition and may also like to explore Tate Britain’s permanent collection of Pre–Raphaelite paintings with Lisa Bamford. Lisa will be offering free guided tours at 12pm and 2pm for anyone wishing to join her. 

Coach travel to the Tate Britain is also included.  We will leave Bedford at 9am and return at 6pm-6.30pm (traffic dependent).
