Artistic Anatomy for Portraiture

This 3-week short course led by Charlotte Fone explores the anatomy of the head to support and strengthen your portrait drawing. Beginning with an introduction to the structure of the skull, you’ll build your own model in clay to better understand form and proportion.    Using this knowledge, you will sketch from a live model, learning to recognise the underlying structure as you draw. We’ll also look at facial features and the neck, helping you observe more closely and capture shape, balance and expression with confidence.  Charlotte is a classically trained painter based in Bedfordshire, who completed training at the internationally recognised Florence Academy of Art. With over a decade of teaching experience, she brings a strong focus on observation, anatomy and supporting each student to develop their skills with confidence.
