A Mosaic Mandalas Workshop
- Andrew Wynne
- Autumn 2026
- Workshop
- 10am - 3:30pm
- Monday
- 1 Day On 2nd November
- £65
Mandalas are complex geometric designs, often incorporating a variety of
simple shapes. In some cultural traditions, they represent the universe and are
used for meditation and spiritual practice.
The word mandala comes from Sanskrit and means "circle". Mandalas
often feature radiating, symmetrical patterns that can enhance focus,
relaxation, and mindfulness.
In this one-day workshop, we will explore the entire creative process, from
design through to completion. You will learn mosaic construction techniques
using lead-strip outlines, combined with cut and shaped ceramic, mirror, and
glass pieces to create your own unique mandala.
The workshop is suitable for all abilities, from absolute beginners to learners
with some mosaic-making experience who wish to develop and refine their skills
and knowledge.
Teaching will include ongoing tutor support, demonstrations, practical
activities, group discussions, and individual question-and-answer sessions.
All materials, tools, and equipment are provided.
Learner requirements: Learners are advised to wear old or protective clothing.
All materials are supplied; however, anyone wishing to add a personal touch by incorporating items such as pottery fragments, glass, or other suitable materials is welcome to do so. Bringing design ideas is not compulsory, but it may be helpful.
