Petrarch came up with the idea, Shakespeare developed it and Edna St Vincent Millay nailed it! In this course we will look at the structures of the sonnet and how its 14-line format helps, or forces, writers to condense their ideas. We will then select some to read and perform within the group – and may try writing some, but only if we want to.
