Controlling and Using AI Wisely

This short two-week course provides a practical, non‑technical introduction to artificial intelligence and how to use it effectively as part of your everyday life. Participants will explore what AI is and how to control and influence what it produces. This focuses on practical skills such as prompts, tone and style, and iterating to improve outputs. The course also addresses the limitations and risks of AI, including hallucinations and bias. Participants will learn how to critically evaluate AI outputs, understand when AI is (and isn’t) appropriate to use, and apply it in a safe and responsible way. You will need access to a computer and some familiarity with the use of AI. We will help you set up an account with Google Gemini or Chat GPT so you can use AI at home.
