Sarah Aylen studied Music at Goldsmiths, University of London, and later became one of the first in the UK to earn a Master’s degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Surrey. She taught Music throughout her career and served as Director of Music at Dame Alice Harpur School, leading a vibrant programme of choirs, orchestras and ensembles. She has directed numerous youth and adult choirs, achieving national recognition with a youth chamber choir that reached the Radio 3 Choir of the Year finals, performed at the National Festival of Music for Youth, and toured across Europe. More recently, she has travelled internationally as a Music examiner and continues to enjoy singing in two chamber choirs.
