Matt served 32 years in the Metropolitan Police Forensic service, primarily as a Fingerprint Expert, Crime Scene Examiner and Police and Civilian trainer.

He took up beekeeping in 2009 as a means of de-stressing after work, attending the basic course and after 8 years, due to the personal circumstances of the existing Apiarist, took over that role at the apiary at Bedford Country Park. where there are 12 hives, he also manages 6 hives for Brewpoint Brewery and has 15 hives at home.
