John worked his way up from being a runner to a producer in the television industry, focusing on commercials and music videos. He is a published author of film books and has proofread many non-fiction texts. He once worked as a tour guide, taking groups of American students around England (one day he got lost taking 50 students to Salisbury Cathedral- he couldn’t find it, even though it’s got the tallest spire in Britain!). He is currently Head of Film at Bedford Modern School and a mid-life crisis has led him to direct a short film that is currently doing quite well at film festivals. He loves travelling and the natural world, walking about 500 miles of the Camino de Santiago being a particular highlight. He is married with three children and a dog- he often places 6th in the family hierarchy.
