Joanna is an Art Historian and has a PhD in History of Art from University of Leeds. She currently teaches at the Open University, having previously been lecturer in Southeast Asian Art History at SOAS, University of London. She is also the author of MILK: An Intimate History of Breastfeeding (W&N, 2023) and has written for the Observer, Wellcome, and Hyperallergic. She also teaches her own successful online creative workshops and courses around art writing and motherhood.
