An enthusiastic and motivating teacher/trainer who has been using her lipreading teaching skills in a different capacity, supporting Deaf and hard of hearing people to be independent and confident, to remove barriers to communication and improving access to services. As Joanna says, “I have always enjoyed delivering training in my job roles and I now wish to focus on teaching lipreading to support communication, as there are not enough teachers for the growing numbers of individuals needing to learn”.
