Jason was born in Bedford and has lived mostly in Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire. After leaving Kimbolton School he worked in the Civil Service and retired a few years ago after being an Inspector of Taxes in the Anti-avoidance section of HMRC.

He enjoys country pursuits and sailing.
