The reign of Queen Victoria (1837-1901) was a period of rapid development and change; socially, technologically and politically. This course will provide an introduction to the period that saw Britain change from a rural, agricultural country into an urban, industrialised one. We will consider the way society was radically altered and how British life witnessed significant development and changes.
