Step into the vivid, emotionally charged world of the Pre‑Raphaelite Brotherhood—one of the most radical and visually striking movements in British art. In this course, we will explore the origins of the Brotherhood and their bold break from the Royal Academy; the intertwined lives and loves of Rossetti, Millais, and Holman Hunt; and the movement’s muses, models, and mythologies. Over five weeks, this seminar unpacks the artists who rebelled against convention, revived medieval beauty, and transformed Victorian culture with their luminous colour, symbolic storytelling, and uncompromising attention to detail.
