The study of the nature of knowledge is one of the key sub-disciplines of philosophy. This course considers to begin with the tri-partite (or standard) definition of knowledge as justified true belief. It then considers two (widely accepted) amendments to that definition. Finally, it considers the principal theories about how belief is justified, viz. reliabilism, foundationalism, and coherentism.
