Take a day just for you to slow down, experiment, and play with pattern and stitch. In this one-day workshop, you’ll explore a combination of simple printing techniques and hand-stitching to create richly layered fabric artworks. We’ll begin the morning with mindful mark-making and fabric printing — using a mix of block printing and stencil techniques to create unique textures and patterns inspired by nature and the seasons. You’ll experiment with colour palettes, composition, and layering to develop your own collection of printed fabrics.
After a relaxed lunch break, we’ll move into slow stitching, exploring how embroidery and appliqué can be used to enhance and respond to your printed designs. You’ll learn a variety of stitches to add texture and detail, working intuitively to create a finished piece or a series of small textile samples to continue at home. By the end of the day, you’ll leave with a beautiful selection of hand-printed and stitched fabrics, fresh ideas for combining print and stitch, and a renewed sense of calm and creative inspiration. Perfect for: Anyone who enjoys hands-on making and wants to explore creative techniques in a relaxed, supportive setting. No experience needed — just curiosity and a willingness to experiment.
