Philip Larkin was an important figure in the poetry of the second half of the twentieth century. His work explores the human condition in an occasionally bleak, often witty and invariably interesting way. We will look at his last two collections: ‘High Windows’ and ‘The Whitsun Weddings’. We will explore and discuss individual poems as well as identifying the key themes and methods of this fascinating poet.
