This course aims to help you to develop confidence, improve existing skills and realise your potential.
The course is structured in four sessions. Each session will focus on a different topic. You will explore drawing techniques, by sketching from still life and from photographic images.
You will explore drawing techniques in conjunction with the use of soft pastels. Targeted exercises will introduce you to tonal and chromatic values and soft pastels techniques.

Equipment required for this course.

• Soft Pastels set (min of 24 recommended)
• Willow Charcoal
• Apron or similar to cover clothes
• Optional – Charcoal pencil or compressed charcoal
• Optional Sugar paper (however this can be purchased at the centre for a small cash price)

If you are unsure of which soft pastels to purchase KOH-I-NOOR TOISON D’OR (soft or extra soft) are a good first buy.

Handouts will be e-mailed prior to the lesson and students will be expected to print and bring these along as they will include the source images you will be working on.
