Ancient Greek painted pottery from the has survived in both quantity and quality. We shall consider the range of subjects shown on the pots, including mythological subjects and scenes from daily life, as well as studying the shapes and functions of the pots, and how they were made and decorated. Many of these pots originated in Ancient Athens, but examples have been found in many other areas of the Greek world and beyond. There will be opportunities for questions and discussion as we explore pots from museum collections worldwide.
