Course Code: 1XEC05A19
Start Date: 28/10/2019Day of the Week:
Length in weeks: 5
Time: 10:00am to 12:00pm
Each of the five sessions will focus on a famous economist, all of whom have a high public and academic profile but who have also led very interesting lives. For example, A W Phillips was a Japanese Prisoner of War and an occasional crocodile hunter, while J M Keynes was a pioneer of women’s rights and a member of the Bloomsbury Group. We will also be looking at John Nash, Milton Friedman and Joan Robinson. We will spend approximately half our time each week looking at a (simplified) version of their theories and influences, and half our time on their lives.
