1. The telephone: Alexander Graham Bell to Steve Jobs and beyond

2. Screens: Cathode Ray Tubes to smartphones, flat screen TVs and outdoor concerts

3. Navigation: Compasses, maps and sextons to GPS, Google Maps and Satnav

4.Shopping: Local corner shops to supermarkets, hypermarkets, Amazon and beyond

5. Sound recording: Wax cylinders to vinyl discs, magnetic tape and digital techniques and streaming.
