In this module we will be looking at the basic skills of Chinese Xieyi (free style) brush painting. We will use the traditional Subjects including the Four Gentlemen – Plum Blossom, Bamboo, grass Orchid and Chrysanthemum. These four subjects give you the basic techniques you need to tackle all other subjects and are those traditionally taught to Chinese children, adult beginners and annually to all artists who wish to ensure they are not losing their way. The module is suitable for beginners and improvers. We will be working with Chinese brushes and Chinese brush painting materials.
