Children and young people are in the news – knife crime, grooming gangs, mental health problems and school non-attendance.  Drawing on a range of social science research, this workshop offers the opportunity to reflect on and discuss some of these issues.  Using a case study as a medium for discussion and learning, we will consider how they relate to the wider social, political and economic context, and how families, carers, schools and other services can work together to provide effective support.
