Silver Jewellery Workshop: Kathy Taylor

"In this one-day workshop you’ll learn how to design your jewellery, measure and prepare Sterling silver (in sheet and wire form), form and solder your pieces and add texture or use stamps to add pictures, letters or symbols. Your tutor will explain the finishing and polishing process which will be carried out in her workshop with the pieces being returned to the REC a few days later for collection. You can realistically expect to make at least two pieces from a selection of rings, earrings (stud and dangly), pendants, charms, bangles or possibly a chain bracelet. The cost of making two of these is expected to be about £60, but it could be less. A selection of materials will be sourced by the tutor and you will pay her direct (cash or card payments - receipts available) for these. This session is suitable for complete beginners or those who have some prior experience. The session fee includes use of the tutor’s equipment, finishing and polishing plus return to the REC."
