Great Short Stories by Women: Dr Sharon Priestley

"On this discussion-based course, we encounter some fascinating short stories written by true masters of the genre, all of whom are women. Our text is Great Short Stories by Women (2013) chosen by Victoria Hislop. These short stories are by authors—past and present—who are prize winners, famous wits, well-known feminists, national treasures and/or rising stars. The rich variety of life is captured in this volume, which includes stories by Virginia Woolf, Doris Lessing, Margaret Atwood and Ali Smith. The works we read will doubtless prompt some fascinating discussions among participants on this course. "
