Mapping the Landscape: Liz Carter

"We study five different sets of surveys and maps that record the changing landscape of our countryside and the growth of our urban areas covering the period 1750-1950, using local archive material, maps and photographs to compare surveys with modern-day landscapes.  "

Tutor: Liz Carter

"Liz Carter developed a passion for family history into a small research business back in the 1980s. She then went on to lecture on social, local and family history for a variety of centres including the University of Cambridge ICE, opting to remain with the REC when the University ended their connection. She also now lectures for The Settlement at Letchworth and other local groups. She has a keen interest in all things historical, especially the 18th and 19th centuries. "
