Scandinavian KnittingTechniques: Sophie Atkins

"This course is an introduction to the practical skills involved in Tvåändsstickning (twined knitting) and the ancient precursor of knitting – Nålbindning. You will also learn about the historial background of these two traditional Scandinavian techniques. You should have some knitting experience and be confident knitting in the round using a method of your choice (sock needles/magic loop/two circular needles). For the twined knitting please bring your own needles between 3-5mm and two balls of not too precious yarn in contrasting colours. Wind the yarn so that you can pull on both ends. Nålbindning needles will be provided, please bring your own yarn making sure it is 100% wool so that the ends can be easily felted together."
